High and low HP applications
There is a power difference between
(a) small and large fuel injection engines
(b) inexpensive & high dollar cylinder heads
(c) mild & radical cams, and many other parts. However, the engine will not run well with any of these unless the fuel injection is set up properly. This book tells about setups used by successful race engine tuners to reach that goal.
About the book
Knowledge is the key to performance & winning. With that in mind, this book provides knowledge about mechanical fuel injection for more powerful and reliable performance.
Mechanical fuel injection is the preferred choice in:
1. many drag racing applications
2. other forms of auto racing
3. boat racing drag and circle
4. custom auto & boat shows
5. go Kart
6. Junior drags.
The drag race blown alcohol application is highlighted as an example although much of the information is applicable to other auto and boating sports. Additional information is provided for fuel injection tuning of gasoline, ethanol, and nitomethanol powered race engines as well.

FUEL INJECTION TUNING HELP FROM THIS MANUAL: Racers throughout the world rely on racing mechanical fuel injection for high output power levels. Those polished stacks, scoop, or huge throttle body fed by individual fuel lines all indicate high power outputs. Tuning the jetting produces a win or loss, DNF or DNQ a race engine in one piece or broken. Simplify your tuning with easy to use lookup tables with detailed technical information. Math secrets to fine tune your jetting adjustments are revealed.

ABOUT THE MANUAL: This is the second in a series of manuals about jetting for mechanical fuel injected race engines. The first was for the small block. This manual is specific to larger big block V-8’s on methanol. Methanol has a wide tuning window that can be varied as much as 30% between a lean and a rich limit. Setup & tuning of a methanol fuel injection engine is done with proper fuel pump size and jetting. Even after a proper fuel pump size is determined, tuning with jetting can be an endless task. This includes variations from engine component changes and weather changes. While the adjustments are few, their numbers of combinations are large. Because of that, this manual provides the following:
• Editorial to describe some of the science of tuning with jetting
• Math to provide a numerical understanding of the jetting basis
• Jetting tables to illustrate individual tuning relationships
• Additional jetting tables within those pages for various engine sizes.
