On board data recording began. Gary Beck reported the following specs in Pro Top Fuel drag racing:
– 0 to 100 MPH in a little over 1.2 seconds
– 0 to 200 MPH in a little over 3.8 seconds
– max acceleration of 4 g’s
– max engine speed of almost 9,000 RPM.

Quarter mile performance in Top Fuel in 1984 was in the 5.50 sec. ET range at 250+ MPH.
