Setting up a new MFI fuel system: main bypass adjustment to control the air/fuel ratio adjustment of the combination of the main bypass and nozzle sizes to maintain an optimum fuel pressure range from the lowest to highest engine RPM. Changing the main bypass jet for tuning affects the air to fuel ratio and fuel […]
At a local drag racing event recently, we helped one of the racers chop 0.3 seconds off his ET slip with a correct addition of a low percentage of nitro. The racecar was an early model, low compression Hemi drag car with a small 6 GPM fuel pump. It ran solid 7.6 seconds in the […]
We used a simple fuel pressure gauge with a peak hold needle to record our highest fuel pressure value from a run. The gauge is an all stainless, bottom 1/4NPT pipe, glycerin filled gauge with a maximum indicating needle. Glycerin filling is needed to dampen the needles from racer vibrations. Stainless is needed for resistance […]
Message: in your fuel injection book, you show a vacuum gauge with a telltale, do you know where to obtain one of these gauges? KS It is not a vacuum gage but a pressure gauge. You probably want a 0-200 psi, liquid filled, tattle tale gage.
